InfoHub Migration for System Owners
Welcome to EnergyTrak! This guide helps existing InfoHub users transition to the EnergyTrak platform and configure their system for optimal monitoring.
This page is intended for System Owners. For Pros, please visit InfoHub Migration for Pros.
1. Logging In
Accessing your system is simple. You can use the EnergyTrak mobile app (recommended) or a standard web browser
- Credentials: Use the same email address associated with your InfoHub account.
- Cross-Platform Sync: You can use both the mobile app and the browser; any changes made on one platform are instantly viewable on the other.
2. Confirm Your Site and System
Once logged in, your home screen will display a Site Card representing your home or business.
- System Status: Click the card to view the real-time status of your standby generator, utility grid, and EnergyTrak network connection.
- Information Hub: From here, you can also access:
- Event Log: A historical list of all system activity.
- Notifications: A record of alerts received.
- User Access: See who else has permission to view the site.
- Subscription: Manage your EnergyTrak service details.
3. Notifications Setup
EnergyTrak is designed to automatically keep you informed. Notifications are currently delivered via push notification or email, with SMS in development.
Professional Setup by Your Pro
As of EnergyTrak r5.0.0, Pro users can manage notification settings on behalf of their assigned System Owner users. This requires that you are a Pro Monitored site. Reach out to your Briggs & Stratton dealer for assistance getting set up.
Push Notifications (RECOMMENDED)
Designed for mobile devices, push notifications offer the most responsive experience.
- Setup: Requires the EnergyTrak mobile app.
- Experience: Alerts appear in your device’s notification tray just like a text message or app alert.
Email Notifications
- Setup: Can be completed using the EnergyTrak mobile app or web app.
- Experience: Best for users who prefer to keep a searchable historical record of events in their inbox.
SMS Text Notifications (In Development)
- Status: Estimated Release 2026-Q3 (July – September).
We recognize many InfoHub users relied on SMS. Our engineering team is prioritizing this feature to ensure a robust release. In the meantime, we recommend using Push Notifications for a similar real-time experience.
What About SMS Alerts?
While we work on bringing SMS to EnergyTrak, we encourage all System Owners to configure Push Notifications. This process is significantly simpler than the previous InfoHub alert configuration.
How to Enable Push Notifications:
- Open the EnergyTrak mobile app.
- Tap the "hamburger" icon (three lines) in the top left to open the main menu.
- Select My Notifications.
- Tap the Gear Icon in the top right to open Notification Settings.
- Open the Generators menu, then the Site submenu.
- Toggle ON the notifications you wish to receive.
Recommended Settings:
To stay fully informed without being overwhelmed, we recommend toggling on the following Site notifications:
- Disconnected: Loss of EnergyTrak connection detected.
- Exercising: The scheduled exercise cycle has started.
- Fault: A critical system fault was detected.
- Ready: System is healthy and in standby mode.
- Running: Generator is running due to a power outage.
- Stopped: Generator is not running despite a utility outage.
- Warning: A non-critical system warning was detected.
We DO NOT recommend toggling on "Device" notifications. These are highly specific and primarily used by technicians for troubleshooting; they often result in redundant alerts for users.
New Features & Improvements
EnergyTrak r5.0 released on April 7, 2026, and introduced several enhancements:
- Missed Exercise Alerts: Get notified if your generator fails to exercise for 8 days.
- Site Sharing: Easily share a site’s URL via the "Share" button.
- Delivery Failure Reporting: If an email or push notification fails, EnergyTrak marks it with a 🚫 not delivered status and provides a reason.
- Pro Notification Management: If you are a Pro Monitored site, your Pro Admin or Technician can now manage your notification settings remotely to ensure you are properly set up.
Coming Soon
We are committed to continuous improvement. Look forward to these upcoming releases:
- SMS Text Notifications: Direct-to-phone texting (Expected Q3 2026).
- Fleet Reports: Automated and on-demand health reports for managers of multiple sites.
- Enhanced Telemetry: Detailed data (such as starter battery voltage) will soon be attached to all events in the log.
