Key Features for Your Business
EnergyTrak introduces a completely new backend system and upgraded hardware, resulting in a more stable, reliable connection. This means fewer missed pings, more accurate reporting, and less troubleshooting for you and your customers.
- Unified Monitoring: Gain complete visibility into all your customer installations from a single dashboard. Monitor and manage both Briggs & Stratton generators and batteries from one unified platform, simplifying maintenance and providing a holistic view of each customer's energy system.
- Improved Installation: A mobile-friendly, intuitive interface makes installation faster and easier than ever. EnergyTrak Universal (6943) offers improved connectivity with familiar installation designed for any standby generator, allowing you to easily install EnergyTrak on any Briggs & Stratton or competitive standby generator, expanding your service potential.
- Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates: EnergyTrak automatically keeps the app, the EnergyTrak device firmwares, and our battery system firmwares automatically up-to-date with the latest features and security enhancements.

Recommended Pro Workflow
EnergyTrak equips Pro users with a comprehensive toolset to deliver a turnkey customer experience. To streamline operations and ensure owners get the most value from the platform, Pros are encouraged to always:
- Install the EnergyTrak device for the owner.
- Setup the EnergyTrak device in the EnergyTrak app.
- Add at least one System Owner user to the appropriate EnergyTrak site.
- Pay for the EnergyTrak subscription on behalf of the customer.
- Provide an ongoing premium service of maintaining and monitoring the system using EnergyTrak.
These steps create and assign relationships efficiently across user, device, site, subscription, and business entities. They also support optimal system uptime by informing service teams about generator issues and enabling quick responses, which improves owner satisfaction across fleets.
Service teams that receive timely system issue notifications under pre-arranged service terms with owners can resolve issues proactively, greatly improving owner satisfaction.
Monetizing this service is discussed further in the following section.
Monitoring as a (Pro) Service
Many generator service professionals offer customers recurring maintenance service packages, providing regular checkups and servicing for generators throughout their lifespan. By bundling these services with EnergyTrak monitoring, Pros create a valuable business model. Real-time alerts for faults or other issues maximize system uptime and improve customer satisfaction by helping the Pro to react quickly.
While some providers offer monitoring as an optional upgrade for customers installing a standby generator, many offer it as a baseline service whether the owner wants to use the app or not because of the immense value they have found from these services in support of their own service business operations.
EnergyTrak is designed first and foremost to support and enable this approach for our Pros. With competitive pricing, monitoring services can be bundled into existing maintenance packages or offered as a separate service.
Here’s an example:
Jimmy owns a generator installation and maintenance business. When he installs a standby generator, he includes an annual monitoring and maintenance package at a $500 annual price to the owner. The package includes:
- EnergyTrak monitoring and control for both the Pro’s business and the System Owner user(s).
- Annual maintenance service of the generator.
- One additional annual service call at no labor charge.
Jimmy finds that the monitoring services help his team triage issues faster, reduce downtime on his generator fleet, and optimize technician dispatching. Plus, he earns a respectable profit margin from the monitoring and maintenance package. His customers are happier, his costs are lower, and his revenue is up!
